The Author of this blog believes in a conservative Christian view with dispensationalist leanings.
The author’s statement of belief includes, but is not limited to:
Scriptures
The Bible contains the 66 books of the old and new Testament from Genesis to Revelation. It is the word of God, not just conveying the word of God. The Author believes that the original manuscripts of the Bible, written by people afore time were inspired by God. by inspiration, the Bible was written by man with the direction of the holy spirit. The author believes that the originals have been lost and though God has preserved the truth of his scripture, he has not preserved the exact wording of the original. It should be the standard by with all christians measure their life against.
God
God is a supernatural being with infinite power, knowledge and understanding beyond that of human comprehension. The triune God has three parts, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The author believes that it is beyond human understanding to understand how these three are also one. The Author believes that God is a being of love, though perhaps not love as each person thinks it is. the Three parts of God created the world, the heavens, and all therein. The author believes that aspects of God such as his love, are all incomprehensible to Man.
Jesus
The author believes that Jesus is the Son of God, part of the Triune God, sent to earth in a corporeal form. He was sent not to punish the world, but to save it from the consequences of Sin. The author believes that Jesus was indeed born of a virgin, who was called Mary. However, the author does not believe in the immaculate conception. The Author believes that Jesus did indeed live a normal life on earth, full of the temptations and feelings felt by Man, but did not succumb to those feelings. Christ did around a three year ministry at the end of his life resulting in his death, burial and physical and spiritual resurrection. The author believes christ had a perfect life allowing him to be the propitiation for our sins. The Author also believes that Christ now resides in heaven.
Creation
The author believes that God created the world in six literal days. The Genesis account is not merely an allegorical story but fact. Creation is not a result of evolution, it is not the result of natural processes with God’s intervention.
Eternal Security
The author believes that a person cannot apostasize and lose his salvation. The condition to this is a true belief and understanding in the Lord Jesus Christ at the time of salvation. Each person has all of his sins forgiven at salvation, past present ant future.
Concerning Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God. No man deserves salvation, it is solely an act of grace on the part of God. The means of salvation is the death of the Lord Jesus Christ c. AD 30. His death and subsequent separation from God and then resurrection, his victory over death, allowed his death to be used as an atonement for the sins of Man. His death took away original sin and each person is only accountable for his own actions (though each person still has a sin nature). Salvation, as a gift, constitutes faith in the fact that Jesus Christ died and rose again that he may have been and is the propitiation of the sins of man.
Salvation must be accepted by an individual and is not granted by another person, attendance to a church, or good works. It is in of itself a gift, with no requirements, and eternally secure. It is received though faith. The author believes that it may or may not be a process (with a majority being an instantaneous decision), though the author is still not entirely sure of this point and it may or may not be an instantaneous decision in of itself. Man is blind to the prospect of salvation and thus Man requires the “quickening” of the spirit in order to view the prospect of salvation. However, this does not mean that a person is predestined, it might be that the holy spirit merely shows the person the need of salvation and allows him or her to accept or reject the gift.
when saved a person then becomes a partaker in the divine nature receiving the new clothes. He receives the gift of eternal life with Jesus (as opposed to eternal life in separation with God), and receives the ability to talk to God though his Son’s intercession, Jesus Christ. Though Christ and the new spirit, one may overcome the old spirit, which continues to reside in the body in a constant battle. The change is both instantaneous and a progress.
Prayer
Prayer is talking to the Lord to form a relationship with God. In prayer we do several things best summed up in the popular acrostic, ACTS. These things are Adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. Adoration is praising God for his attributes. Confession is restoring fellowship with God, which while not entirely lost since we have been forgiven of our sins, needs to be restored by apologizing for committed sins. Thanksgiving is thanking God for his actions in our lives. Supplication is taking requests to the Father though the intercession of the Son. The author believes that not praying for others is a Sin according to the word of God.
Notes
The Author acknowledges that parts of the above are derived from personal thought and so may be scripturely incorrect. If someone has a verse, a biblical reference to refute something, post a comment and the author may or may not change the above based on further reading and exegesis of the Bible.
post a comment if something specific is needed (or perhaps more detail). The author will most likely chose to answer to the best of his ability, but please be aware that the author also has some undelt with issues with no definite decision on.
